CeilingMount is designed to make the physical mounting part of the replacement simpler and faster, using the existing base plate.

Does CeilingMount replace the smoke alarm?
No. CeilingMount is a mounting adapter. The smoke or carbon monoxide alarm itself is purchased separately
Do I need to drill new holes?
The purpose of CeilingMount is to make use of the existing mounting position where the installation is compatible. Follow the supplied installation instructions
